The new stuff this time is, for the most part, new. By that, I mean current, bitches! I'm talkin' Beyoncé - Love On Top. 4 horns and detailed rhythm parts for guitar/keys and bass/drums. Need something for your horn players to do on Don't Stop Believin', Living on a Prayer, Club Can't Handle Me, or DJ Got Us Fallin'? We have new three horn charts based on synth lines, background vocals, or combinations thereof. ('cause who uses real instruments anymore?) Put your horn players to work! Poor bastards would rather play than stand there anyway.

Even more chilling - LMFAO for Pep Band! Little 4 bar shorts based on Sexy and I Know It and Party Rock Anthem. Also, shorts for Give Me Everything by Pit Bull, and We No Speak Americano, by Yolanda B Kool and D Cup. But wait! We have full length arrangements, yes, for Pep Band, of Forget You by Cee Lo, Higher by Taio Cruz, Mr. Saxobeat, by Alexandra Stans, and Tonight (I'm Loving You) by Enrique Inglesias. Pep band arrangements include 4 horn parts (originally 2 tpts, alto, and 'bone), and rhythm parts for guitar, tuba or bass, and drum set. As always, you can get these parts transposed for whatever instruments you have for no extra charge. This is the awful stuff your kidz listen to, written for the instruments they're struggling to play.

Back to the old school now. We have a big new chart on What Becomes of the Brokenhearted. Six horns, four strings and rhythm. I had the pleasure of playing this tune with the Funk Brothers behind Joan Osborne. This is based on the old record, though, with a clever final chord my old buddy Doc came up with. I couldn't figure out how to tag this thing, but that old Doc is wily.

I must mention, once again, that my daily business is tailoring arrangments to your specifications. Since my last update, I've reworked a pile of things for a band using alto and tenor for their horn section, another band with trumpet and tenor with either alto or bari options, and even a group that uses trumpet, sax and harmonica. Those traspositions are free. I've also added rhythm parts to, and changed keys on more charts than I have the time or energy to list here. Added parts are $10 a page. Key changes are free. Tell me what you need. I will take care of you.

More Delbert McClinton - Blues as Blues Can Get for 4 horns and rhythm. Click the button on the Delbert page!

Do you have an original project you'd like horn charts for? I now have the ability to import your rhythm/vocal tracks into my notation program, write horn lines over it, and send a recording of what your song will sound like with my horn parts before you ever bring horn players into the studio. Preview, critique, edit - an amazing tool for collaboration!

November 23rd, 2011

I just got an email asking if I had anything new. I haven't updated this site since June? Oh boy, do I have new stuff! I hardly know where to begin. I won't try to include every added part, reduced instrumentation or transposition here. You can rest assured that, if you need more parts, fewer parts, key changes or instrument transpositions, I'll take care of you.

So, here are the new titles, starting with the ones I think you'll be most interested in:
Got To Get You Into My Life - Earth, Wind & Fire's version, for 3 horns with detailed rhythm parts.
Ain't Nobody - Chaka Khan - There are no horns on the original, but I've come up with some appropriate parts that were very well recieved by the band that commissioned this arrangement.
Give Up the Funk - Parliament - Tear the roof off the sucker! Classic funk. Just the horn parts.
The House Is Rockin' and Route 66- reductions from Brian Setzer's big band, and Wild Women Don't Get the Blues, from Lyle Lovett.
It's Not Unusual - Tom Jones - What's no to love about this classic? The record fades out, but I added a tag like what I remember from his TV show.

Lead sheets - All My Life - Karla Bonoff - the hit record was by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville. I Loved Her First - Heartland - This is the new Daddy's Little Girl for wedding receptions.

New old Motown titles - Ain't No Way - Aretha Franklin, You're My Everything - Temptations, Memphis Train - Rufus Thomas, Needle in a Haystack, Quicksand, and Too Many Fish in the Sea.

Instrumentals - Grazin' in the Grass - Two versions: Hugh Masekela's original, sketched out very simply for trumpet, tenor and rhythm, and Bony James new version, expanded for four horns and rhythm. Also, Tank!, the theme from Cowboy Bebop, by Yoko Kanno.

From Portugal and Persia - Pai Da Criança - Chave D'ouro, Portuguese Mix and Viva O Pove Portugueses - Jorge Ferriera, and Paria by Shahram Shabpareh.

But wait! There's more!
Bend Me, Shape Me - American Breed, Christmas Wrapping - Waitresses, Club Tropicana - Wham, See You In September - Happenings, Time Won't Let Me - Outsiders, Welcome To My Nightmare - Alice Cooper, Aretha - Rumer - I transcribed the flugelhorn part for this pretty, new song. Big Trombone - Lord Tanamo.

June 20th, 2011

You say your horn section is three saxes? What are you, a freak? I mean, have I got a chart for you! Modern Love, by David Bowie, for alto, tenor and bari. Or, if you're the only horn player in the band, I have a part for you too. A composite tenor part that includes the background lines, the bari solo, and even the tenor solo at the end, all transcribed for you.

I've also expanded Them Changes for 2 trumpets, tenor and bari.

June 17th, 2011

Remember The Ice Cream Song by The Dynamics? Neither do I. We have a new chart for it, though. You know Janis Joplin's Piece of My Heart, but have you heard Erma Franklin's version? We have 3 horns on that one. Also new this month, and probably more familiar, Messin' With the Kid, from the Blues Brothers, and What Does It Take?, from Junior Walker. I probably should have started this paragraph with Forget You, by Cee Lo Green. You can get 1 rhythm part on 3 pages or 2 rhythm parts on 4 pages, 3 horn parts that cover the background vocals, and a bari part that doubles the bass.

What makes Earth, Wind & Fire so funky? I found out when I transcribed rhythm parts to go along with the horn parts I already had for In the Stone and Shining Star. Got To Get You Into My Life, the Beatles version, also includes a rhythm part now.

The horn section downsizing continues. New 2 horn versions of Feelin' Alright, Funky Broadway, Jive, Jive, Jive, Nothin' from Nothin', and Will It Go 'round In Circles. Get 1st parts for trumpet and 2nd parts for alto and tenor without the rhythm parts for cheap, cheap, cheap! New 3 horn versions (reduced from 4) include Love Train and Another Star.

May 23rd, 2011

I guess it's time to give Michael Bublé his own artist page on our site. We have a new 3 horn/1 rhythm adaptation of his How Sweet It Is arrangement. Another fun one!

If you've always wondered what it sounds like when you play a fiddle next to a construction site, you should check out La Bottine Souriante. We've just completed our second adaptation of one of this band's arrangements, Le Reel Des Soucoupes Volantes, which is based on the traditional reel, Jenny's Chickens. Parts include the melody, bass and chords, plus horn parts for 2 trumpets, alto and trombone. This package also includes a score, and a keyboard part with the horns cued in.

Mirroring the economy at large we've cut back a whole book full of the most popular charts to two horns this past month. (Sorry, 'bone and bari players!) Titles include Brick House, Dancing in the Street, Get Ready, Give It To Me, I Will Survive, I Wish, September, Superstition, and about twenty more. First parts for trumpet, second parts for alto or tenor.

On the other hand, adding a bari part is so easy, I did one in about 10 minutes last night on Since I Fell For You. So don't be afraid to ask for key changes and added parts. Key changes are free!

April 4th, 2011

New for 4 horns: I'm Your Puppet, by James and Bobby Purify. Also, 4 horn versions of Beginnings, Roll With It, and Beauty Is Only Skin Deep.

March 31st, 2011

Brand new Brand New Heavies - Dream Come True for two horns and four rhythm. Also, Destination Anywhere for the same instrumentation. This is transcribed from The Commitments' version. For four horns we have 1-2-3 (That's how easy love can be.) by Len Barry, and Holy Cow by Lee Dorsey.

March 24th, 2011

It is so easy to optimize a three horn chart to work with two horns. I just did a couple of these that a customer requested, and wound up not charging the reduction fee. So, please don't hesitate to ask for a two horn version of practically anything in the catalog. The titles I just did were Funky Broadway, Givin' It Up For Your Love, and Space Captain.

March 21st, 2011

Tell It To My Heart - Taylor Dayne's smash hit from 1987 rolled off the presses today. Another highly detailed keyboard part commissioned by our Australian friend, Aldo. Also added a rhythm part to the Blues Brothers version of Sweet Home Chicago. Details include the guitar intro, bass lines for a few sections, and everything that happens during the break. This complements the three horn arrangement that's been in the catalog.

March 17th, 2011

Guess what I transcribed today! If you guessed, Skiss Mellan Brest Och Segosero, by Fanfare PourPour and Lars Hollmer, you win the prize. This is a traditional reel adapted here for flexible instrumentation. The parts include, melody, harmony, two accompaniment parts, bass line and percussion. These are all transposed for C, Bb, and Eb instruments. A piano part and score are also included. The idea is to create your own arrangement, using the instruments in your ensemble in different combinations.

March 15th, 2011

Welcome to the Jungle! This hilarious version by the fabulous Richard Cheese. Thanks to Irene in Norway for comissioning this transcription for trumpet, alto and 'bone.

March 10th, 2011

New 4 horn arrangement: Oye Como Va by Tito Puente.

March 9th, 2011

New keyboard part with strings and horns cued in: What's On Your Mind by George Benson.

March 3rd, 2011

It's been so long since my last update, I won't have room for everything. Here are some highlights:

New Top 40 stuff: Firework, by Katie Perry - This has detailed rhythm section parts, and a 4 horn arrangement that includes some cued in string parts and some original lines more suited to horn players. Rollin' in the Deep, by Adele - Detailed parts for guitar/keys, bass and drums. Background vocal parts are cued in for trumpet and alto. Original horn lines on the bridge. Four horn chart can be done with two or three. Runaway Baby, by Bruno Mars - Detailed guitar, bass and drum parts. Background vox and synth line covered in the four horn parts.

Many, many, many charts are now available in expanded or reduced format. Take a look at how many options you have for Superstition! These are totally rewritten to take advantage of the expanded instrumentation. I've added 4th parts to more things than I should list here, and I've written new 2nd parts for bands with just two horns on many more. Remember, you can always request an expansion or reduction on any of these charts. Key changes and instrument transpositions are always free.

Keyboard parts for 80's dance music: Many thanks to Aldo from Australia for comissioning 21 of these, and a couple nice Jill Scott things, Golden and A Long Walk. Can I by Cashmere, Object of My Desire by Starpoint, Shattered Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz, You and I by Delegation, Let It Whip by Dazz Band, Outstanding by The Gap Band, Roses Are Red by Mac Band & The McCampbell Brothers, Midas Touch by Midnight Star, Never Stop by The Brand New Heavies, Just An Illusion by Imagination, She's A Bad Mama Jama by Carl Carlton, A Night To Remember by Shalamar, Good Times by Chic, Let's Hear It For The Boy by Deniece Williams, Don't Look Any Further by Dennis Edwards, Right On Track (Single version) by Breakfast Club, Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison, Rock Steady by The Whispers, Get Down Saturday Night by Oliver Cheatham, I Feel For You by Chaka Khan, The Best Things In Life Are Free by Janet Jackson & Luther Vandross. I also did Silent Night and Jingle Bells from BeBe and CeCe Winans. These keyboard parts are most of the tune. Voicings and patches are detailed and string and other auxilliary parts are written out. Add a bass part and you've got it all.

New Portuguese things: Thanks once again to Mario Silva for comissioning these horn parts, and expanding our selection from Roberto Leal and Jose Malhoa. Amor De Verao, Africana (P'ra Leberdade), Nao Deixe A Festa Acabar, and Um Pouco De Ti. Also, Ela E Uma Bomba and Pra Me Conquistar by Iran Costa.

I transcribed a few funk-jazz instrumental things for a Halloween gig with the Hurricane Horns. These are lots of fun to play. Chris Cross by Jimmy McGriff, Kool by John Scofield, People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul, and Think, the 1973, funky version, by James Brown.

Here's a list of the rest: Boy from New York City, Buffalo Soldier, Da Do Ron Ron, Every Time I Roll the Dice, For Once In My Life, Freaky Dancing, Funky Stuff, Groove Me, Hard To Handle, Harvey's Tune, Heartache Tonight from Michael Buble, He's the Greatest, I Know A Little, I'm Tired, I Put A Spell On You, I Want To Love You, Jive, Jive, Jive, A Little Less Conversation, Listen To Me, Magic Mind, Master Blaster, More from Bobby Darin, Night On Broadway from Candi Staton, Nothin' But A Heartache, Orange Colored Sky from Natalie Cole, The Snake, Space Captain, Stop, and Them Changes.

October 7th, 2009

Four months since my last update! I'll have to do some serious research to figure out everything I've cranked out in that time.

Brand new stuff: I'll Be Around is a nice, easy tune by the Spinners. I'll Play The Blues For You is the Albert King blues classic. Marvin Gaye's What's Goin' On features one horn line transposed every way you want, and a rhythm part. A few more like that are Let's Have A Party, by Amos Milburn, Baby Love, by The Supremes, Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones. I have a one horn arrangement for Hank Williams version of Almost Persuaded.

Added rhythm parts - I Don't Need No Doctor, I Want You Back, It's In His Kiss, Addicted To Love, Deodato's 2001, and so many more...

Expanded and reduced horn arrangements - At Last, and Lido Shuffle for tenor and 'bone, Bari added to Best of My Love, and many more...

Too many instrument transpositions to list. Lots of new alto parts transposed from tenor. Of note, however, is a nice selection of Steely Dan tunes transposed for alto and two tenors.

June 10th, 2009

The U.S. auto industry may be in tough shape, but Motown is alive and well here in the land of the Breeze and the home of the faves. Always Something There To Remind Me is in the running for the title of longest title. This is Sandie Shaw's version. It's arranged for three horns and rhythm, as is My Guy, by Mary Wells. I have three horn arrangements for Baby I Need Your Lovin' by The Four Tops, and Your Precious Love by Marvin Gaye and Tammy Tyrell. Reach Out And Touch by The Supremes is a rhythm section chart.

We have some new blues-y offerings for 4 horns and rhythm this month. Dance With You, is a straightforward shuffle from B.B. King. From The Bottom is a discovery from The Blues Brothers' Made In America CD. Temptation is a funky one from Jack Mack & the Heart Attack.

How'd you like something for your horn players to do on Baby, You Can Drive My Car? I've got a one-pager on this Beatles classic. For $2.50 how can you go wrong?

Our Portuguese offering this month is Quem eu Quero by Jose Malhoa. This is for two horns with every imaginable transposition available.

We're always adding parts and transposing things. One thing along these lines may be of particular interest. We now have detailed rhythm parts for Power Of Love by Huey Lewis in additon to the horn parts. I know quite a few of you have expressed an interest in these parts.

April 21st, 2009

The Blues Brothers madness continues with new stuff for four horns and rhythm. Expressway To Your Heart has four individual rhythm parts to capture every detail of this great old tune. Knock On Wood is now available for four horns and rhythm in just about any combination you can imagine. Turn On Your Love Light now has bari and rhythm parts available. 634-5789 also has a new fourth horn part.

Response has been good for the new look of the web site. The renovation started with the desire to have just essential information and kudos on the first page, as well as that great picture of my good friends and me playing this stuff. I thought a new color scheme would be better with the picture, I needed a new link to this info, and... there goes a weekend. But now new people have been checking in from all over the world, so the effort has been rewarded. Your comments are welcome on the community page. I still plan to do a briefer bio page, but I have to write charts sometime.

March 26th, 2009

The new Blues Brothers artist page has been a big hit from Oregon to the U.K. So, thanks to Mike Kelly and his new band Gimme Some Lovin', we have three new Blues Brothers covers for four horns and rhythm. (Everything I Need) Almost and Shotgun Blues have composite rhythm parts to go with the trumpet, tenor, 'bone and bari. Groove Me has separate parts for guitar, bass and drums to catch all the little twists that great band put into this song. Thanks to Alex Wood in the U.K. we have alto parts ready to go for... well.... too many charts to list here. Remember, even if we don't have an alto part listed, or if you use bari rather than 'bone, instrument transpositions are free!

March 20th, 2009

Boogie Oogie Oogie! Who doesn't love this big dance favorite by A Taste of Honey? The three or four horn players get keyboard lines cued in as well as some lines created especially for this arrangement. This also features detailed, individual parts for guitar, keys, bass and drums. There's room for solos to keep 'em on the floor, and a suggested ending.

March 13th, 2009

They tried to make me write out Rehab, I said, "Well, okay." The Amy Winehouse hit is here for three or four horns and rhythm - string and bell parts are notated in the keyboard part.
You Are The Best Thing
is gonna be a big hit for Ray LaMontagne, they tell me, so I got a jump on this. The original features trumpet and tenor. We got that, plus you can add a Bari or even a fourth horn. Nothing complicated for the rhythm section, so that part is a bass line and chord symbols.
Dana Owens, otherwise known as Queen Latifah did a vocal cover of Mercy, Mercy, Mercy. Great fun for horn players (trumpet, alto, 'bone and bari in my transcription). Open it up for solos! Individual rhythm parts for guitar, bass and drums included.
When I did horn parts (tpt/ten/tbn/rhythm) for the Blues Brothers version of Who's Makin' Love, I realized that I hadn't given them their own artist page. It turns out that most of the tunes they covered are under the name of the original artist, or guest artist. Check out all the links, and see just how much I had overlooked here.
The dynamic Esther Phillips did a great version of Cherry Red way back when. Make your four horns (tpt/ten/tbn/bari) sound like a big band with this great new chart.
The Selena tune, Si una Vez, has been covered by dozens of artists. Our new three horn chart is transcribed from Mauricio Morais' version.

In addition to the new things we have many added parts and some big key changes. Alto parts have been added to create four horn arrangements of I Second That Emotion, I Will Survive, In The Midnight Hour, Just In Time, Knock on Wood, and Where Or When. I've been working with so many bari players lately, I don't even remember what I've added bari parts to. Don't be afraid to ask for added parts, different keys or instrument transpositions!

February 22nd, 2009

The buttons are coming! The buttons are coming! Shopping cart technology is starting to sprout here in Breeze-land like the tender buds of spring. Check the artist pages to see how this is shaping up. Next I'll move on to the alphabet pages starting with letters like "V", and "J", and see how long it takes to loose my mind. We'll have a 20th century web site before the 21st century is over. Mark my words!

February 9th, 2009

No sign of a recession here in Breeze-land. Sales were up 40% in 2008, and new orders are pouring in faster than ever.

Lot's of educators have been using us as a resource to address their specific instumentation problems. Do you have a small ensemble with "unique" instrumentation? We can transpose parts to fit your needs. Instrument transpositions are free, and added parts are discounted. Imagine how your band would sound playing some Motown, or Classic Rock!

New three horn and rhythm charts: The addition of Michael Jackson's Thriller means that Michael and his brothers get their own artist page here on the site. You Can Call Me Al was a big hit for Paul Simon a mere 20 years ago (seems like yesterday to the resident geezer, here), but my chart is hot off the presses with detailed rhythm parts and lots of possible combinations for the horns. Have you heard James Taylor's Shed a Little Light ? I transcribed the horn parts off the DVD, if you'd like those. O Meu Coracao Fez Bum Bum, by Emanuel, is the latest transcription available here for you Portuguese bands. Thanks again to Mario Silva and Sem Duvida for their regular patronage.

I've been writing some little big band things for my own pleasure. Anybody out there using Alto, two Tenors, Bari, two Trumpets, Trombone and Rhythm? I just did a beautiful treatment of People Get Ready. This adds to the library which includes Gwen Stefani's Luxurious, and Eleanor Rigby. I'm working on a few more for this ensemble: Do Ya Wanna, by Tower of Power, Yo Pumpkin Head, by Yoko Kanno, Night Breeze, by Ronnie Laws, and Miles's Tutu.

For Christmas this year I did a trombone quartet arrangement of Christmastime Is Here, by Vince Guaraldi. This joins my brass quintet Christmas Song arrangement, and my three horn and rhythm Rudolph and Auld Lang Syne in the holiday department. I'll try to remember to list these more prominently next holiday season.

December 4th, 2008

I've been so busy with new things I haven't had time to update the web site. Here's what's new:

I've done a couple rhythm parts and a three horn and rhythm arrangement for some Bobby Caldwell things; All The Way, The Girl I Dream About and Tomorrow. Michael Buble is still in high demand. Fever, for three horns and three rhythm is the latest thing I've charted from his book. I have a little thing for Sway as well, just the lead horn line and a rhythm part. It's very flexible and works well.

Classic rock bands may be interested in Baby, Now That I've Found You by The Foundations for 4 horns and rhythm, Hawaii Five-O, by The Ventures, with very detailed rhythm parts, flute parts for the sax players if they want it, but cued for the keyboard player if they don't. That's for 4 horns, but will work without the tenor part. Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners has fiddle parts cued in all three horn parts.

Rhythm parts have been added to Can't Hurry Love, Everybody Needs Somebody, The Locomotion, Peg, Unchain My Heart, and Uptown Up. I now have a three horn version of Everybody Needs Somebody and lots of alto parts, substituted for tenor, are ready to go.

Portuguese bands will be interested in five new charts, Eu Voltarei by Jorge Ferriera, Pra me Conquistar, by Iran Costa, Vou Tirar Teu Nome Do Meu Coração by Jose Malhoa, Vai Com Deus by Roberto Miranda, and Baila Pra Mim by Michael Carriera. These have one to three Bb parts (including Bb Trombone), and TAB for the lead guitar parts is included with some.

September 9th, 2008

We've finally copped the domain name "coolbreezemusic.com". If you're coming to the old web address, things might be a little funky, but any link you click in the top banner will take you to the new web space, where things are working splendidly.

We have some new rhythm parts: The Groove Is In The Heart, Shake Your Tailfeather, Son of a Preacher Man, and Try A Little Tenderness all include a composite rhythm part, now. We also have alto parts for a lotta mo' things, thanks to Leah Mills in the UK asking for those. Be looking for bari parts added to more things. I did one for Feelin' Alright today. I've been playing with the Rockin' Soul Horns, who have a trumpet/alto or tenor/trombone and bari lineup. They (and I) will be wanting to update some charts, and bari parts are probably the easiest to add.

July 10th, 2008

New parts: Keys for It's All Been Done and The Time's Jungle Love. Detailed rhythm parts for Sweet Caroline. Bari part for At Last to create a new 4 horn version. New charts: Even It Up, from Heart, for 4 horns & rhythm - tpt/ten/tbn/bari/keys. B.B. King's version of Let The Good Times Roll from his live recording with Bobby Blue Bland for 3 horns - tpt/ten/tbn.

June 20th, 2008

New community page! This page features a message board and links to bands all over the world who use our charts. If I forgot your band, please let me know!

June 18th, 2008

More great stuff for the classic sound of trumpet, tenor and 'bone: The Bitch is Back - from Elton John before you knew he was gay, Shake Your Tail Feather - from the Blues Brothers and brother Ray Charles, and Temptation Eyes - from the Grass Roots. You remember the Grass Roots, don't you, old timer?

I'm still trying to make the web site look better for everybody. Anyone want to suggest a way to get rid of all the empty space between my nav banner and the rest of the page? Thank you!

June 12th, 2008

New 3 horn charts: 1-2-3 - Gloria Estefan's first big hit - Fabulous horn lines for Trumpet/Tenor/Trombone. Today's Your Birthday - Solomon Burke - Happy Birthday To You it's not, and it's not the Beatles hit, but it's a soulful sentiment for 3 horns and rhythm. Come On Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners' only hit - Transcribed for 3 horns with the fiddle parts cued in.

June 5th, 2008

Sweet Home Chicago - The Blues Brothers version for 3 horns (tpt/ten/tbn) and for 2 horns (ten/tbn) added to the catalog. Also, the huge That's How You Know from the movie Enchanted for 3 horns and 4 rhythm. Rhythm part for Delbert's Shakey Ground added.

All this on top of some major web site improvements. I forget sometimes that not everybody is viewing this site on a 20" iMac. Some things have been scaled down and the color scheme is, I think, improved. Message board and community links to come for those of you who would like to dispute this.

May 25th, 2008

Audio samples added! Look for the titles highlighted in light blue. These are recordings of bands who play my charts regularly. Some are short clips, others are full length versions. If you have recordings of your band playing any of my charts, please email me with a link, or send an audio file. You'll be helping your fellow musicians make more informed selections.

May 22nd, 2008

More web site improvements! Navigation improved throughout the site. Artist pages are back up with links in the alphabetical pages (combos). Check out the all new Brass Trio page with audio samples and shopping cart features! Links to downloadable lists on the info page are fixed, and the lists have been updated.

May 7th, 2008

Web site update! All the alphabetical pages have been updated to include things I've written over the past year. There are things here I'd forgotten I've done. If you haven't browsed this site in a while, please click on "Combos" and look around.

May 3rd, 2008

I've been cranking out the new stuff like crazy. New 3 Horn charts for She Came In Through The Bathroom Window, Fooled Around And Fell In Love, 634-5789 (Jimmy Hall's version) and Robben Ford's No Amount Of Loving. I also have new stuff for Tenor and 'bone. Last Mall and Lunch With Gina from Steely Dan, Robert Cray's Consequences, Everybody Needs Somebody To Love, Jump, Jive An' Wail (I must have a dozen versions of this by now), Pick Up The Pieces, The Letter, I Wish, Brick House, and I Feel Good.

I know the web site has been looking shabby. It's in the process of being totally redone by people who know what they're doing. Look for a searchable list, click-to-pay and instant downloading when it comes on line. We're also going to try to include sound files, and links to our customers' web sites. Be sure to check back here in May.

January 31st, 2007

Just a quick update. We are still hard at work here writing charts. Updating the web site has taken a back seat for the time being while we're busy filling orders. We have new Michael Buble adaptations for two or three horns with detailed rhythm parts, thanks to Kevin Vars of the great state of Rhode Island. These include Save the Last Dance, How Sweet It Is, Quando, Quando, Quando and Home. A Janis Joplin tribute project in Green Bay, Wisconsin has comissioned horn parts for Move Over, Maybe, Half Moon and Get It While You Can, with many more to come . Thank you, Bruce Parrott! Coming up, a few old Tiajuana Brass things for two trumpets, trombone and rhythm. This customer was outbid on eBay for an out of print TJB song book. Does anybody have access to this material?

December 6th, 2006

I'm afraid we're in damage control mode here as far as the web site. I'm working on a major update while in the midst of an unusually busy concert season, so you'll find some nice new stuff mixed in with some older pages and some things that are unfinished. I'm posting the newer things because some of the older pages got messed up during the upgrade. I hope you can find your way around alright. I'll try to make everything nice before the new year.

November 8th, 2006

The Best Is Yet To Come has been expanded and reduced. This has long been one of my favorite 3-horn charts. One of the challenges I find myself confronted with is taking a big band chart and making it sound good with just a few horns. This was one that I've enjoyed playing with three horns, and it's even better with four. What's more, I'm happy to say that the new two horn version works fine too. Check out this chart and similar on the Frank Sinatra page.
